How do I create an account in ctrlX Device Portal?
Your account is automatically created when you purchase a ctrlX device or a license. To request access to your account, please fill out the "Get Access" form in the ctrlX Device Portal or the "Add/Remove User" form on our Service Tickets page. You will need your company account ID, which can be found in the license certificate.
How do I find my company account ID?
You can find your company account ID in the license's certificate. If you are trying to access your company account, your admin can add you in the "Settings" page.
How can others in my company access the licenses?
You can add users to your company account on the "Settings" page or click on the "Add/Remove User" form on our Service Tickets.
How do I remove users from my account?
To remove users click on the "Add/Remove User" form on our Service Tickets and enter the Name, Surname, and Email address of the users you wish to remove in the "Users to Remove" field.
Why am I receiving an error when I try to login?
If you received an error after logging in, it may be due to:
You are not registered with any account. Click on the "New Company Account" form on our Service Tickets page to your company account. You can find your company account ID in the license certificate.

How do I try a license before buying it?
You can assign a 10 days trial-licenses to your devices. You will see the expiration date of the licenses in your ctrlX CORE.
What is a 10-day trial license?
The 10-day Trial License is a testing license that can be used for nearly all available apps in the ctrlX Store. It is valid for 10 days after downloading the License file in the ctrlX Device Portal.
It is NOT allowed for productive usage and only for testing apps. After 10 days the functionality is prevented.
Each customer account receives 3 trial Licenses and can request more under certain conditions. When the first 3 trial licenses have been used, 3 more will become available. The trial Licenses will be filled up maximum 5 times.
Information for trial/time-based licenses
What is a time-based license?
Time-based Licenses are Licenses that are valid for a defined period of time. After the download of the licensing file in the ctrlX Device Portal, the time will start to count. In your ctrlX CORE UI you will see the expiration date of the Licenses. After the time is finished, the License will disappear from your device. You can add a new time-based License to your device in the ctrlX Device Portal.
How can I purchase Licenses?
Purchase Licenses via the ctrlX Store or any other sales channel such as the Rexroth Store or your local sales. With the purchase of a License your company will receive an account in the ctrlX Device Portal where all Devices and Licenses can be found. To access the ctrlX Device Portal please give the information of who from your company should receive access to the ctrlX Device Portal. Provide name, surname an email-address. This information will be placed in your order and you will receive a welcome mail and log in information as soon as the order is confirmed.
After the order has been confirmed you will receive a Software License Certificate e-mail, informing you, that the licenses you just purchased are now ready to be used.
How do I activate my license?
Follow our Quick start guide to assign your licenses to your devices. After completing the assignment, you can download your files and upload them to the device.

Where can I manage my licenses?
All licenses can be managed within the ctrlX Device Portal. For each order, a license receiver on customer side is defined. After purchasing a License, the License receiver will receive an e-mail that the Licenses are now available in the ctrlX Device Portal. In addition, this person will receive a Welcome Mail that will ask the recipient to register to gain access. This License Receiver then has access to every License under the company account.
How do I transfer the license to my device?
Offline case
First download the license file from the device details page. Open your ctrlX CORE software and click on "SETTINGS." Go to "Licenses" and click the up arrow labeled "Upload License File (Capability Response)."
You can also download licenses from multiple devices in one click. On the Devices page, select the devices from which you want to download licenses, then click "License options" and select "Download Licenses". Afterward, go to each CORE device to upload the specific file.
Check that the date and time of your ctrlX CORE is correct.
Removing Licenses
You can remove Licenses in the Device details page by the trash bin from the “Actions” column. After selecting the trash bin, a confirmation message will appear:
If the License file was not yet downloaded press “DELETE” and the license will be removed.
If the License was already downloaded it is not possible to remove immediately therefore press “REQUEST TO DELETE” and an automatic e-mail will be generated to our service or local sales. We have 24/7 Service hotline for support. You can also open a ticket via [email protected]. We will need your ctrlX CORE serial number and the name of the license to be removed.
Transferring Licenses to a new Device /exchanging a Device
Contact Service and they can remove Licenses in the ctrlX Device Portal from one Device and map them to the next Device. This may be relevant if you have mapped the License to the wrong Device or if your Device is defect and you wish to reuse the Licenses. Name:

If you or your company are a direct customer for ctrlX AUTOMATION at Bosch Rexroth you can request a user account. If you purchased a ctrlX CORE from a different company you can claim your device and order ctrlX App Licenses via our ctrlX Store or a Rexroth Sales employee.

How can I find my device?
All ctrlX COREs are registered automatically in your account in the ctrlX Device Portal. If you are not finding your device it may be due to:
Your device has been moved to another folder: You can search for your device in the "Devices" page. Ensure that you activate the filter "search in: All folders". The results will be displayed, and you can see folder location of the device in the "Location" column.
Your device is not yet in your account: To claim your device, contact our Ticket Support. You can also use the Digital Service Assistant App, click on "Register your product" then scan or manually enter the device serial number. Add a comment indicating that you wish to claim the device in the ctrlX Device Portal.
If you cannot find your Device, contact our support hotline or support email [email protected] and have your serial number ready. If you did not buy the Device directly from a Bosch Rexroth entity you can claim your Device to make it appear in the ctrlX Device Portal.
The Digital Service Assistant App is also available to claim a Device. Download is available in the Google Play store or Apple App Store as well as in the ctrlX Store. Here you will be asked to login with your customer ID. Click on “register your product”, then scan or manually put in your serial number. Add a comment that you would like to claim this device in the ctrlX Device Portal.
How do I register a new device?
All ctrlX COREs are automatically registered in your account in the ctrlX Device Portal. If you are not finding your device, refer to the "Where is my device?" instructions.
For engineering PCs or ctrlX OS partner devices, follow these steps:
Go to Devices in the ctrlX Device Portal
Click the "Device options" button and select "Register PC device"
Provide a Name and a Device ID for your device (the ID must be a UUID, as this option is only available for PC devices)
You can add a description, and after clicking "Save" you can start assigning licenses to your device
Why my device name is not updated automatically?
Currently the ctrlX Device Portal is an offline tool. The devices will be available automatically but with the serial number has name.

How do I find my device serial number?
Go to "SETTINGS" in your ctrlX CORE software, click "SETTINGS INFORMATION" and in the "Type plate" you will find the device serial numbe
My device is under repair. How do I retrieve the license?
If you have sent your broken device to warranty service, the licenses will be available at the ctrlX Device Portal for you to reassign to another device. For out-of-warranty devices, is will not be possible.
My device broke and I urgently need to replace it. How should I proceed?
In urgent cases we can send you a device that is licensed like the device you wish to return. After we receive the defective device, we will remove the Licenses and they will be “exchanged” for the ones you received on the new device.
