PROCON-WEB - Why can't I connect to my virtual core in port forwarding mode?

I am attempting to create a PROCON-WEB project on my virtual core. If I have my virtual core set to use a network adapter, I can connect fine. If I have my virtual core set to port forwarding, I am unable to connect and get the message below saying the system is not available.

I can connect to the OPCUA server and browse tags successfully when using port forwarding.

How do I fix this?

There are two issues here:

  1. By default the virtual core is not setup to forward the ports necessary for PROCON-WEB Designer to connect to the PROCON-WEB-ES runtime

  2. The locally hosted server that is installed by default with PROCON-WEB Designer is utilizing the ports that will be needed by the virtual core

To fix this we need to first search in the Windows Task Manager for 'procon' and then end the 'PROCON-WEB SystemServer' task.

Then we modify the port forwarding settings of our virtual core to include '16620:16620,16810:16810,16800:16800'.

Now connection to the core should be possible.

Note: A password is required to connect to the runtime. The default is 'procon'.
