Installing python packages with the IDE

Hello all,

Trying to use the IDE, textual coding version and from what I can see, its a reskined visual studio code.

I would like to install some packages using the "pip install" command in the terminal but I cant install anything.

Usually on VSC, there would be a Extensions tab to install the compiler so that you can run the command on the terminal of VSC.

The textual IDE app is a use of the Theia project. The function to install packages via pip install is blocked because of security reasons.

The main question is what you want to achieve. There are three general ways:

Using the python runtime app is quite limit in its functionality and only libraries not using any dlls can be used
Using the Python interpreter inside of the IDE app with its restrictions
Building an own app bringing an own Python interpreter and all dependencies for your application
