Is there a guide on how to functionaly use station alias 0x0012 for XB-EC-12 with FW v1.4.0? Simply activating identification and downloading the configuration is not the proper method, from my testing, because the device shows as not connected.

With which tool you tried to set? When tool and controller support it, you can change it.
current supporting tools are TwinCAT or Omron software, new value need to be written and than the device need a power cylce to apply the new address
