Encoder Emulation by ctrlX IO
what is our plan for encoder emulation module from ctrlX IO, what is the roadmap? regards Marco 107/06/2026Maximum Ethercat Lenght Cable
Hello, A customer has a question regarding the maximum cable lenght that can connect between the ctrlX Core and the last Ethercat slave, I have seen in this post that the XB-EC-12 can accept 100 m max but I do not know if this value is the maximum of all the elements, https://community.boschrexroth.com/ctrlx-i-o-1lgjjr0v/post/maximun-ethernet-cable-length-for-ctrlx-io-SEwi4gU7wG3KKht For example, imagine that I have a ctrlX Core and 2 XB-EC-12 bus couplers, can I connect a 100 m cable between the ctrlX Core and the first bus coupler and another 100 m cable between the first bus coupler and the second or the sum of all the cables needs to be 100 m? Thanks in advance, 106/15/2026XI614001 SSI Interface with Linear Scale IMS-C (SSI)
Hello, will this IO module able to read a linear Scale ? Documentation refers to single turn and multi-turn. My guess is that the linear encoder has to be treated a single turn. Thank you 305/26/2026ctrlX I/O Communication Module XI521001 RS232 - EtherCAT Oscillating Connection
Hi people, I´ve got a ctrlX 1.2 Configuration where I had 2x XI521001 modules to communicate by ASCII with some devices. I´ve already separate them in a different Sync Unit from other devices, because they are oscillating connection - time from time they go to "Disconnect" and after a while go to "Safe-OP". At least they doesn´t bring the entire network down. I tried to find a new firmware that could help me with that issue but there is no newer release opened at Rexroth Site. Is there any problem or known issue with this module? Ideas of what could let this modules down? 605/05/2026Scan third-party drivers
The following issues occurred while scanning the third-party dual axis drive: Two modules appeared in a dual axis drive。 I want to know if this is a customer XML file issue or a CtrlX I/O software issue. 2204/20/2026EtherCAT junction - XB_EC_31
Hello! I'm testing EtherCAT junction with new module XB_EC_31. In my office I have only one such module connected to X3_modular (v3.6_LTS), but in real machine I will have X5 and 3x XB_EC_31. The idea behind using XB_EC_31 is to have separate optional modules of machine witch can be switched ON/OFF. My actual test setup looks like this: Generally network is working but after 10-15min mostly ctrlX drive connected after XB_EC_31 gets "F4002 Failure of a consumer connection" and stops. Sometimes there is also "F2067 Synchronization to master communication incorrect". How I can look for cause of this fault F4002 and F2067? Should I use some non-default settings for sync for junction? 103/27/2026Multi-Ethercat
When using two ethercat masters, does the max data limit apply to the system or each instance? For example could I have Master 1 with 6KB of data and Master 2 with another 6KB since both are under the 10KB limit. 103/16/2026XI613101 - Support of Single Ended TTL
Hello Does the XI613101 support single ended TTL (e.g. A, B only instead of A,NOT A, B, NOT B)? I have attached the datasheet and the customer is looking to check if the incremental outputs will be compatible with the XI613101 Many Thanks 103/16/2026Referencing the XI613101 not triggering
Customer is attempting to reference their TTL encoder input on the XI613101 using the Process Data bits. They have set the reference mode to Process Data mode with 16#8000:12 = 2, but when they trigger the bit the axis doesn't reference. Any advice for additional things to check? 102/19/2026XI613101 PDO mapping not correct?
Customer has PDO mapping that is missing encoder reference offset parameter. It also includes CoE Object 16#8000:11 for enabling referencing that is not in the documentation. What is the solution to how to run this correctly? PDO mapping from documentation: 102/19/2026GDM or GDS encoder on ctrlX I/O
I am looking how to read a GDM encoder into a ctrlX System. To start. There is limited or No info available on this moment. If I look in the documentation I only find the ctrlX I/O Encoder module XI614001 1-channel, SSI Interface But I need the XI612001 ctrlX encoder interface because I think I need the SIN COS variant. Not the XI614001 which is for SSI. So Q1 : Can I connect and read-in the encoder values os a GDM as sin/cos encoder in this particular I/O module? Then Q2: While a GDM is a multi-turn encoder. Does the module XI612001 allows me to use the multi-turn encoder function of the GDM, or will it de-valuate to a single turn sin/cos encoder? 502/18/2026Why no possibility to add bits to a digital In- or Output card??
In Indraworks I can put a word to all 16 input or outputbits so I can easily read all IO, in CTRL-X this is not possible, but also not even the separate bits, it keeps giving me errors. Anybody knows how to do this without addressing every input separately with a boolean?? First picture is Indraworks, 2nd picture is CtrlX works 402/18/2026Error -- missing ESI-file of XCS in ctrlXI/O 3.6.3
Hallo, I'm using ctrlX I/O 3.6.3 I'm setting up a new control cabinet. There are two new ctrlX Drives XCS02 compact. But I can't connect because this error Currently I have no idea what's the reason and how to fix. Some time (in November 2025) I did the same with a XCS02 compact drive and had no issues. Hi, I'm looking to clarify functionality of the XI150204 module. Even though it is 10us filter am I correct in thinking that the input signal would need to be on for at least the master cycle time (e.g. 2ms) in order for it to be guaranteed detected at the CtrlX Core? If input signal duration < Ethercat master cycle time then the XI190202 oversampling module is the correct solution? Thanks 301/15/2026XI351002 - 2Ch Analog input RTD
I am using an XI351002 module to read two PT100 sensors in an air cooling system. The system consists of a fan that blows air through a radiator with cold water. Most of the time the temperature readings work correctly, but sporadically the readings are lost and start oscillating heavily or show very high values, even though the physical temperature is stable and OK. I have two XI351002 modules installed in the machine. When this issue occurs, if I swap the connectors, the problem follows the connector, not the module. One test I performed: on the module where the reading is fluctuating, if I disconnect the sensor from channel 1 at the measurement point, the readings normalize for both channels. When I reconnect the sensor, the fluctuation returns. I also measured the sensor impedance with a multimeter, and the values are normal. After a few hours, the fluctuation disappears by itself and the readings return to normal operation. The module does not show any diagnostic in the IO Engineering. Has anyone seen or experienced a similar issue? 301/12/2026EtherCat Address Manuel Assignement in 3.6 ?
Hello, I have a customer developing under 3.6 , I have seen that in version 4.x we are able to specify the EtherCat address instead of only option auto increment, will this be possible in further 3.6 updates ?? or is this exclusively an option in version 4? Thank you ! 112/18/2025IO Engineering 4.4.0 incomplete Expert Process Data selection
Hello, With IO Engineering 4.4.0 I am seeing an issue like we've seen with a previous version of 3.X. Most of the IDN's are missing when I try to add Expert Process Data. Hello Community I'm trying the test that the I/O module has been installed on the ctrlX CORE X5. However, it got some error. The download from ctrl I/O Engineering to ctrlX CORE could not be completed. EtherCAT could not be connected to each I/O device. However, the output signal successfully turned ON. PLC side ctrlI/O I would like to fix the EtherCAT connection issue with the I/O devices and the download error. Best regards Kiriki 410/20/2025ioLink IODD file in ctrlX I/O Engineering
Hello, I am using ioLink devices and I saw I could intergrate IODD files into the ctrlX I/O Engineering "device repository". I expect that they provide better interface and decoding of the ioLink signals, as shown here. However, I cannot add them to my EtherCAT configuration. Is there a way to exploit the IODD files added in the "device depository" or is it reserved to other fieldbuses ? Thanks for your support. Thomas. 209/29/2025XB_ET_31 Ethernet switch port configuration with IP-Port problem
Hello, I am configuring my ctrlX card XB_ET_31 to add an ethernet port to my network for some specific TCP protocols. In the settings of the XB_ET_31, it si possible to configure the EoE with two different possibilites : "Switch-Port" or "IP-Port". with standard "Switch-Port", ctrlX Webserver access works fine and the IP address is the one defined inside the "EoE" of the ethercatMaster : with "IP-Port" configuration and following settings : I have enable the following settings EoE settings on the Ethercat master : On XB_ET_31 card when I enabled IP-Port features it was automatically configured like this : This looks logical according to my EtherCAT master settings. And on master EtherCAT side it is recognized : I didn't change anything in the Network interfaces settings : But when I try to reach the webserver of my ctrlX on IP address 192.168.10.11 it does now work and the ping request alos does not work : Where could be my mistake? Maybe I didn't understand correclty how it shoudl work? Thanks in advance for your help. 109/09/2025Gefran EtherCAT I/O Module (G-MATION G3-T8 F092709/ G-MATION G3-ECAT F092613) Compatibility

What is the function of the XB-ET-31? I have an electrical cabinet with an X3 core and an XB-EC-12 bus coupler. A couple hundred feet away I have an operator station with another XB-EC12 bus coupler and a WR21 HMI. Is it possible to transmit codesys webvisu data to the HMI without using a second ethernet cable? I'm hoping the XB-ET-31 on both ends would allow this. With those connections does the ethernet data get transferred through the etherCat network? 503/28/2025Auto reinitial of EtherCAT slave
When rebooting the CtrlX IO of EtherCAT slave devices while the CtrlX Core is powered on, the IO modules transition into a non-operational (non-OP) state. Currently, I can reset the EtherCAT communication in the CtrlX Core CPU by changing the EtherCAT master from "Init" to "OP" status via the EtherCAT library. However, this causes all slave devices to restart, which is not desired. In the other system, there is a function available on slave devices called "ReInit after Communication Error," which automatically restores the slave devices to the operational (OP) state after a reboot or communication reconnection without additional programming. How can I enable or configure this "ReInit after Communication Error" function in CtrlX Core? Thank you. Frank 203/24/2025Device error, more than three invalid AT telegrams in a row.
I want to include 16#1A13 Inputs (Torque Actual Value) in a drive at Process Data. After making the edit in ctrlX I/O Engineering and successfully downloading it to the controller, I observe the following status: EtherCAT Master is in OP (Operational) mode Motion Axes are running Motion Axis Profiles are running However, when I check Motion Axes Configuration/Commissioning, every axis is in ERRORSTOP state, showing the following errors: 090F2000: Device error 0C550001: Field device error Error level: SEVERE Reason: More than three invalid AT telegrams in a row Interestingly, I can add 16#1A1E Inputs (Analog Input 1) without any issues. The Question: Where does the issue originate? What could I check to diagnose the problem? I have already verified that 16#1A13 is mapped to 16#6077#00, which aligns with the EASII Help documentation. At the CoE tab with index 0x6077, the torque value matches the drive's display, which I can also monitor using EASII software. ctrlX I/O cards XI522001 for RS485/422 or XI521001 for RS232 give a serial communication capability to our ctrlX threw an Ethercat network. How can I use these interfaces to manage a serial communication with Node-RED and other apps like Bosch Device Bridge or a Python application? For exemple in Node-RED, there are a native serial communication blocks : These blocks need some parameters like : serialport, serialbaud, databits, parity, stopbits... Usually parameter serialport is something like : /dev/ttyUSB0 but for our ctrlX I/O communication cards, I don't know what to set. Do you have an idea? Thanks for your help 202/25/2025
