Optimization procedure for linear motors MLP in parallel arrangement

Hello team,

We are working in a start up machine with a ctrlX Drive system for control two MLP202D-0060-FT-N0CN-NNNN linear motors connected in parallel arrangement.

I´m trying to optimize the velocity control loop like i did in the past with IndraDrive systems. Its available some documentation with the best procedure for do it?

I used the autotuning option but the motors become resonant as soon as they are enabled. I made some changes based on the data obtained after performing the autotuning, but I can't optimize the system to meet the client's needs.

Parametros_Autotunning.zip
19.65KB

I did the manual adjust (like in the attached parameters). I have not resonances, but I need soften the fluctuating of the velocity.

Parametros_AjusteManual.zip
19.71KB

The machine is used to check vehicle shock absorbers, and the speed fluctuation is reflected in a load cell that the customer uses to determine if the test is correct.

In next oscilloscope diagram you see the velocity fluctuation:

Velocity commanded 60000mm/min: will be the velocity cycle in automatic mode.

AjusteManual_60000_30000ac.zip
89.3KB

With the Frequency response analysis I got net oscillograms:

FA_Speed_control_loop.zip
121.22KB
FA_Speed_controlled_system.zip
120.91KB

What optimization margin do I have?

Can the current loop be adjusted to achieve better results?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

As there is a resonance frequency visible at around 420Hz please set a 2nd order filter like:

The velocity loop integral action time (Tn)(S-0-0101) seems far too small. Please set it to 40 ms instead of 4 ms.

Of course settings to be established in both axis the same.
