Encoder Options on XG20

For the case where a drive (XCS120) is in operation in open loop (U/F) mode, can the XG20 encoder port be used as a external encoder for the purposes of reading an external measure system over a fieldbus.

Is it planned to support encoder options on XG20 other than Acuro Link? For instance would SSI or Endat 2.2 also be supported on this port?

Hello craigthomp,

That will be principle possible but only in combination with a ACUROlink encoder, because due to the hardware architecture of the XG20 interface only ACUROlink encoders are possible. For SSI, EnDat2.2, ... encoders you have to use the EC additional encoder interface.
