For supporting MODBUS-TCP, the suggestion was to use the PLC App with CODESYS - Fieldbus communication Add-on, but I did not find one item for Modbus support in the configuration tool.
Is any documentation available to describe this functionality?

maybe this was a missunderstanding.
Modbus-TCP is not a Codesys Addon, you can use directly in PLC Engineering our library CXA_ModbusTCP.
