Codesys license: SWL-W-XC*-COSY*ENIP*ADP**-NNNN – R911411682 - ctrlX OS License - CODESYS - EtherNet/IP Adapter (add-on) SWL-W-XC*-COSY*ENIP*SCN**-NNNN - R911411680 - ctrlX OS License - CODESYS - EtherNet/IP Scanner (add-on) App license: SWL-XC*-EIA-ETHERNETIPA**-NNNN - R911420593 - ctrlX OS License - EtherNet/IP Adapter Could activating these licenses simultaneously cause any conflicts or interference? I would like to use XF60–XF63 as an EtherNet/IP Adapter. Is this functionality currently supported on hardware? I can only configure the main ports (XF10, XF11, XF12, XF50, and XF52). Although XF60 and XF61 appear and can be added, I am unable to configure them. (see images attached) The same limitation exists in CODESYS, where these ports also cannot be configured. Hello, I have a customer who is using a ctrlX CORE X3. The unit has been in service for about 2 years. Yesterday, the controller suddenly became inaccessible. The internal LED inside the controller is still on, but the status display LED is turned off. I have already tried inserting a microSD card with the latest firmware tried to flash the controller. When I add the template Axisinterface my Motiontask automatically goes to External and synchronise with the Ethercat. Is this recommended? Why am I able to enter a different time for the interval? I don't understand that. Also, I can select 'cyclic' mode using the same timing as the EtherCAT bus. Does that have any negative side effects? 306/16/202680 GB memory extension does not exist
Hello, We just ordered a modular ctrlX core (COREX-M-X3-11-B7NN-21.01-03RS-NN-NN) with 80 GB memory extension, but I cannot see it on the storage section. The core was shipped with v3.6 system software. I read some posts with similar issue with version 2, and the answer was this was fixed on version 3, which we are currently running, anyone can shed some light please? 706/12/2026CtrlX5 LTS 3.6.3 occasionally fails to boot up correctly
A customer has reported the following with CtrlX5 LTS 3.6.3: "every 20 or 30 times I boot the core, it completely fails to boot, nothing runs. If you try to go online to the PLC program, it states the core is in service mode, then when I view on the Web UI, it shows the core as having nothing installed or no info, everything is blank with error 502 codes, then if I power cycle, it returns to normal." He has forwarded some screenshots and system report (attached). Does this provide any clues or are there any recommendations to investigate problem further? Hello, I have the understanding that on ctrlX X3, and X3 Plus, the XF50 port can be configured either as an EtherCAT master port or as a standard Ethernet TCP/IP port, depending on whether the EtherCAT master app is installed or not. However, I have a question regarding its behavior when used as a standard Ethernet TCP/IP port. Hello, I am using the PROFINET Device App on ctrlX CORE. The ctrlX CORE is used as a PROFINET IO Device connected to an external PROFINET IO Controller. The documentation states a cyclic process data limit of 1440 bytes INPUTS and 1440 bytes OUTPUTS. Is there any officially supported way to extend this limit (1440/1440 bytes) or handle a larger amount of data with the PROFINET Device App? I also tried to add a second PROFINET Device instance on another port. It appears in the UI, but the status is “License not available”. The customer accidentally activated the "Temporary usage rights" during testing of the CORE X5. In this context, they noticed that the "Temporary usage rights" license was not actually activated. However, they are using this license, and they will likely have a need for it in the future, for example in failure situations. The versions they are using in this testing are the latest ones, i.e., ctrlX OS 4.6, Motion App 4.6, etc. Motion for 10 axes worked, but the extension to 20 axes did not. This is not yet a major issue, but later in the year, when customer deliveries begin, it will be required. Hello, I have a CSV file that stores the data from each cycle on the microSD card. The problem is that when the card is removed, the PLC does not detect its absence, and I need an error to be generated in that situation. I am using the "CXA_FileAsync" library, but it does not return any error. How can I fix this problem? Hi everyone, we are currently facing an issue with HTTPS configuration on a ctrlX device. We use a CA‑signed custom webserver certificate (webserver_custom_cert.pem + webserver_custom_key.pem) with a DNS name matching the certificate. Uploading the certificate and key under Certificates / Keys, using the correct filenames, and rebooting works initially. However, after reboot the system recreates and uses the default Bosch Rexroth certificate instead of the custom one. This setup worked before with an older (now expired) certificate. The new certificate was re‑issued by our corporate CA based on the existing private key. No PKI is configured on the ctrlX. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or can confirm additional requirements (e.g. PKI settings, CSR generation constraints, certificate format) to ensure the custom certificate is persistently used? Hello, I tried to update the system image on a CtrlX Core X7 from 3.6 to 4.6. I used an USB stick formatted in FAT32 with the system image, mounted on the XF01C usb port (as described in the manual). I tried several times but it was unsuccessful every time. I also tried with version 4.4. It seems that the update doesn't happen at all, when I boot again the CtrlX is still in 3.6. When we connect to the CtrlX webpage during the process, we see this screen: rexroth-arch01.tar is the name of the file we can find in the "rescue" folder of the 3.6 .zip system image file. In version 4.X, the file is called rexroth-arch02.ova. Could this be the problem? Am I using the right method for updating CtrlX to 4.6? Hello, I have a recurring license problem on a ctrlX Core X5 Plus. The device repeatedly shows: 080F0550: Error in license management 080E0550: License manager warning detailed diagnostic 0C7A0092: ctrlX OS System License - *** - Standard Runtime missing Additionally, I also see a health warning: 080F0540: Warning detected during health monitoring detailed diagnostic 0C66003A: High control temperature The problem is that, as far as I can see, there is no such license on the device, and the documentation for this error does not really explain the root cause. We already tried several times to reinstall the firmware completely with a fresh system image, following the official reset and restore instructions. The installation itself works, but after some time the same error comes back again. I did download the DC app package 4.4.0 from the Collaboration Rooms and with these files I then updated all the apps on my CORE X3, which worked. Now I have core22 and core24 installed and I only can uninstall core24. I would expect it to be vise versa... The CORE X3 came with major version 1.20 (core20), I then did update all apps to 2.6 and then afterwards 3.6 and finally to 4.4. I also did press the "Upgrade des ctrlX OS" button before and it also worked. I think then it changed the core so that the old one could be uninstalled, but this time it does not work any more and I get the following error message: "Mehrere Fehler sind aufgetreten Remodeling executing: Remodelling execution failed - error: Operation failed (Code: 400)! Message: cannot remodel device: cannot remodel from grade dangerous to grade signed". Hi everyone, I am currently using the "inputs.ctrlx_datalayer.subscription" plugin in Telegraf to ingest data into the Data Layer. I’ve noticed that the data acquisition currently operates on an "on-change" basis. While this is efficient for high-frequency signals, we are dealing with specific setpoints that remain static for long periods. For consistency in our time-series database and to ensure data persistence, we would prefer to ingest these values periodically (e.g., every 60 seconds), regardless of whether the value has changed. Is there a way to modify the configuration of the subscription plugin to force a periodic update? Alternatively, is there a recommended approach within the ctrlX Data Layer input plugin to switch from a subscription-based model to a polling-based model for specific nodes? Hello, My ctrlX CORE is running in version 3.6 LTS version. I need for an application to create a specific user to be able to manage all "Setup API" functionalities (creating ands restoring backups) not more. I have created a new user named : user_api but I don't find clearly which permission I must allo to have this access. In fact, when I select all permissions to all categories of my ctrlX without the check box : "Full access": ..... When I send the demand : GET /setups get information about setups/backups on the device There is an error : "HTTP client error", I think my user does not have the access: The only possibility is to give the "full access" with the check box to my user : And then it is possible to see all backup files : It looks like there is a user permission missing in the permission definition to be able to manage "Setup API". Hi! Got an issue i've never faced before, I've added the EtherCAT Master Library to a project through the Library Manager, as i wanted to see status and manipulate the EtherCAT Master as when the PLC is booted for some reason the EtherCAT never boots properly and requires someone to log in and set it to OP. I've done the same thing to an older CPU that is using V1.20, it worked perfectly, but this one, which uses Version 2.4 of the software, gets this "error": Note, This is simulated but the problem happened even when testing it live on actual PLC Am i missing something? Hi everyone, I’m trying to autostart my Python project (main.py) on ctrlX CORE using Node-RED. I have a working Node-RED flow that successfully starts a simple test script: import time while True: time.sleep(1) print("Hello World, this is a test!!", flush=True) This works fine. However, when I try to run my actual project main.py, I get the error: OSError: libcomm_datalayer.so: cannot open shared object file I already tried several approaches from the community, but nothing seems to work. My Node-RED flow uses ctrlx-datalayer-request nodes to create the script instance and point to main.py. My questions: Is it possible to start a full Python project with subscriptions to the ctrlX Data Layer automatically using Node-RED? How do I make libcomm_datalayer.so visible to my script when run this way? Any guidance, examples, or best practices would be greatly appreciated! Hi, one question about the licence management as machine builder. What is the correct way for the licences if we build up a machine as Bosch Rexroth for a costumer that is external to Bosch Rexroth. I purchase the needed CtrlX licence by machine build up with my User Account, Create the device and map the licences. After commissioning i have to "transfer" the hole device at the device portal to the costumer? How can i do this? Years later i do a upgrade at costumer machine. I have to add a licence to the CtrlX core as machine builder, how can i map the licence in the account from costumer and generate the licence file for the CtrlX Core. I think because of It-Safety the device will be never online available. The costumer manufactory net will be secured and separated to the internet. Hi, I have been trying to connect my ctrlX core to the internet in order to download some packages from nodered managing palette. I have tried the guide in the HOWTOs (i think it is from there) but it did not worked. Also tried to install nodered on my pc, download the file and uploaded the package manually but in the log information it showed that while downloading it was still trying to reach a link for it to be downloaded. The only thing that worked for me was to enable temporarly DHCP on X10 in the networking settings and then using the managing palette on nodered app. Anyways i was wondering if there was another way without using the DHCP setting that routes my connection from the work place router. i hope i have been clear enough, thank you in advance for your future suggestions. 401/29/2026Uploading trial licenses on ctrlX core failed

Hi, I have a FESTO CPX over EhterCAT with valves VMPA2 and electrical inputs CPX-AP-A-8DI. The ctrlX IO, ESI file and datalayer configuration look OK. I can control the valves. However, i cannot see the state of the inputs in ctrlX Eng and even in ctrlX IO, nor in the datalayer. I can only see the actual values in the CoE. LEDs on the FESTO module = TRUE CoE 0x6010:01 = TRUE realtime_data/.../Inputs.Input_0 = FALSE ctrlX IO variable = FALSE ctrlX Eng = FALSE The mapping of TxPDO looks correct. Hi, sir Every time when using a new browser to connect ctrlX Core, we have to do the login process using user name and password. However, when the customer just wants to enter the monitor page like 3D viewer app's model monitor page, how to skip the login process of ctrlX core?
