What possibilities are there, for communication between two ctrlX cores (C2C)? Is this just OPC UA, or is there e.g. a possibility for a shared data layer, where core 1 can directly read/write a variable on core 2?

There are several ways for a control - control communication.

- OPC UA (PubSub) - NRT still available, in the future the base of the RT-C2C
- Datalayer connection via remote device - NRT and (as far I have in mind very slow)
- PLC data exchange via
- socket communication
- CODESYS net variables
- Ethercat
- Master is available
- Slave is planned after 2025 (ctrlX COREplus)
- ProfiNet
- Device is available since begin of 2023 (for some HW variants - ctrlX COREplus, ctrlX DRIVEplus)
- Master planned for Q2/2024 (ctrlX COREplus)
- Modbus TCP (since Q3/2022)
Recommendation:Use OPC UA
