Hi, forum,
In brief, if it's TL;DR for you, the Bosch Rexroth team should consider using Li-iON rechargeable cell battery by the design of the board. They need to add two cells if needed.
In the USA, CR1032 or ECR1032 cell battery sizes are not a standard, Duracell doesn't produce this. I can only find Renata CR1032, and even Energizer hasn't got inventory stock to sell. Instead, There are Duracell CR2032 which is available at every corner of the stores, and this is cheap to get.
CR1032 can't last more than a year, I am fed up with replacing ctrlX X3's internal battery every year to prevent the yellow blinking core error, and time shifting to 1970s as zero-day error, and revokes all of my licenses, and makes the PLC project not working and causes our customers to call us just because of a "unrecharge-able" battery technology.
It's very difficult to travel around the USA because of the long distance just for the battery replacement. Those batteries should last at least 5 years, and even the battery needs to be rechargeable.
If the technology of the ctrlX PLC core can't allow us to charge the battery cell, please allow us to use a secondary battery cell for the spare then it will last more by this method. If the first cell goes down, the second one will handle it.
The design team should consider using Li-iON internal batteries and then make them rechargeable.
The temperature can be very hot inside of the electrical cabinet, so using the cell battery can cause battery performance to get low over time, temperature isolation is needed for the battery cell because the content inside can go high.
An example, ABB uses rechargeable batteries for their PLC system. Bosch Rexroth should consider using re-rechargeable batteries for their clock system.
Note: No need to reach out to our vendor, this is a design request for ctrlX X3 Core. I opened this topic because Bosch Rexroth may need an update for their system design. This is not a help request, this is a design suggestion. Bosch Rexroth may consider this internally. Our vendor can't change it, and I received 40 minutes of complaints from my manager just because of this topic that I posted here.
