Years ago, we successfully tested the Codesys protocol to communicate with the CtrlX Core PLC without encryption, and it worked well on WRK-1.12.
Now, with WRK-1.20 or WRK-2.X, encrypted communication is enforced by default without any configuration changes.
I have spent several weeks trying to resolve this issue, testing various third-party devices (HMI, SCADA), but I still cannot establish a working connection using the Codesys protocol with encrypted communication. Even when the correct username and password are set on both sides (CtrlX Core and HMI), the Codesys protocol communication fails to work on WRK-1.20 or later versions.
I tested with Kepware OPCEx, WinStudio SCADA, Weintek HMI, and Beijer HMI, but none of them could connect to the CtrlX Core using the Codesys protocol on WRK-1.20. However, everything works fine on WRK-1.12, where I have been running it for several years without any issues.
I believe we need to continue troubleshooting this together. If anyone can successfully establish this connection using Kepware OPCEx (or any other reliable software), it would be incredibly helpful for all users.
As a temporary solution, I am using an OPC server to connect HMI or SCADA to the CtrlX Core. This works well, but we still need to ensure that the Codesys protocol works for different applications.
