Is it possible to connect to a TwinCAT 3 instance running on a local PC?
The connectivity portfolio on the DeviceBridge website indicates that the CX5120_0120 and the CX5020-0122 are supported with TwinCAT V2.11 but the device configuration page of the app only lists "BeckhoffTwincat3" under the Beckhoff heading.
If it is possible, are there prerequisites for how the TwinCAT 3 system needs to be configured to make a connection possible?

Yes the connectivity to TwinCAT 2.11.x.x is possible by having TwinCAT 3 router setup as an intermediate component to establish the ADS connection to TwinCAT in Beckhoff PLCs
Please try using the TwinCAT 3.0.4024.10 version for setting up the router using IP. The Beckhoff TwinCAT 2.11 hostname should be reachable through this provided the connection parameters are rightly configured
