SAFEX-C as FSoE master and EtherCAT slave

Hello,

As far as I understand, SAFEX-C is capable to be FSoE master and EtherCAT slave at the same time, communicating through the XF28/XF29 port. Correct me if I am wrong.

Apart of the official documentation (programming, installation... manuals) is there any guide to perform this configuration?

Best regards,

Hello dhg,

it is quite simple:

1. SAFEX-C.1x being an EtherCAT slave does only need the ESI-File with the IO configuration of the EtherCAT-Master.

2. SAFEX-C.1x being an FSoE-Master needs only dragging-in of the FSoE-Slave device from the library into the Device/Terminal Scheme

In the case above the first two FSoE Slots in the configuration of the SAFEX-C.1x are used by the two devices shown here.

3. SAFEX-C.1x can be an FSoE-Slave itself in parallel to EtherCAT-Slave and FSoE-Master just by hooking this functionality in the controller's property dialog.
