Where do I find the symbol file? In IndraWorks the symbol file was stored automatically in the project directory. But with PLC Engineering I can't find the a symbol file (*.xml).

In IndraWorks all project files were packed into one project file, what was a proprietary solution. Now in ctrlX PLC Engineering the files are put beside of each other like CodeSys is used to do it. You can also find the symbol file there:
