The Kassow Robots Connector allows an easy integration of Kassow cobots into the ctrlX OS Ecosystem. If the app is installed on a ctrlX OS device like ctrlX CORE X3, it can connect to the Kassow Open Realtime Data API of one or more Kassow cobots.
The app allows operators and developers to manage Kassow cobots directly within ctrlX OS, including:
Connecting and disconnecting robots
Monitoring live robot data
Jogging the robot
Clearing alarms
Executing motion commands
All necessary robot data is published into the ctrlX Data Layer. This allows other applications running in ctrlX OS to access dynamically updated robot data, perform evaluations, and send motion instructions to the cobots.
Use case: mobile robot integration with ctrlX OS
Integrate Kassow cobots seamlessly into the ctrlX AUTOMATION platform, for example in combination with the Bosch Rexroth Rokit — the Robotics Kit for mobile robot solutions.
By using the Kassow Robots Connector together with a ctrlX OS device as the master controller, you can build mobile robot applications where all components, i.e. navigation, safety, motion control, and robotic manipulation, are integrated within the same ctrlX OS environment.
This enables:
A unified control architecture for mobile manipulation systems
Seamless communication between robot, PLC, and ROKIT software
Reduced integration effort and engineering time
Flexible system scalability and modular design
All components operate within one common platform, simplifying deployment, maintenance, and future upgrades.
Note: ctrlX OS 4.4VRS or higher is required for usage of the Kassow Robots Connector app.

About Kassow Robots
Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Kassow Robots leads the way in developing and producing strong 7-axis lightweight collaborative robots tailored for industrial purposes. Since April 2022, Bosch Rexroth has been the majority stakeholder. The company’s motto is: "strong, fast, simple."
The portfolio currently includes five distinct 7-axis cobots, offering a reach of up to 1,800 mm, payloads up to 18 kg, and speeds up to 225°/s. In addition, selected models are available in the unique Edge Edition, which integrates the robot controller directly into the robot base (foot), enabling a more compact system design and simplified installation.
Kassow’s cobots can operate in the same workspace as human colleagues. With their 7 axes, they are even able to reach around corners; something classical six-axis cobots are not capable of.
Users benefit from the remarkable combination of agility, power, and accessibility, complemented by intuitive programming. This unique efficiency facilitates smooth automation for tasks such as machine tending, material handling, bin picking, assembly, quality inspection, packaging, palletizing, and more.
