The ctrlX MOTION app is the universal software solution for a wide range of motion control applications. From simple single-axis movements and synchronized axes to coordinated path movements for robotic or CNC applications, the range of functions is scalable based on one universal motion kernel.
Standard Motion
Standard Motion 10 Axes - base license for up to 10 axes.
Common functions contained in Standard Motion:
Point-to-point motion with position or velocity control
Axes override for velocity and acceleration/decelaration
Move against fixed stop
Collision detection and avoidance along axes in line
Gantry axes control
Operating modes for homing, jog, move (absolute, relative or additive)
Inch / metric units
Additional axes packages are available

Integrated fieldbus handling by predefined axis profiles with full Ethercat support
Easy engineering and axes commanding with axes interface, predefined profiles and PLCopen library
Monitoring functions and error handling for safe and transparent operation
Web-based operator interface for configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting, no need for engineering software, only web-browser necessary
Simple handling of operating modes for positioning, speed control and torque control with changeover on the fly
Easy functional extension with optional add-on licenses for Synchronized Motion and Coordinated Motion for Robotics.
Base licenses and optional axes add-ons
Base License "Motion Standard 10 Axes"
This license allows to operate the ctrlX MOTION app with all functions listed above for unlimited time. It provides the basic motion functions for single axis positioning and can be used for up to 10 axes per controller.
Option "Motion extended to 20 Axes" - new!
New option for ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher. With activation of this license feature, ctrlX MOTION app allows the user to configure maximum 20 axes. All axes count - real and virtual, meaning 5 virtual plus 15 real axes are in total 20. License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher.
Option "Motion extended to 40 Axes" - new!
New option for ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher. With activation of this license feature, ctrlX MOTION app allows the user to configure maximum 40 axes. All axes count - real and virtual, meaning 5 virtual plus 35 real axes are in total 40. License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher.
Option "Motion extended to unlimited Axes" - new!
New option for ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher. With activation of this license feature, ctrlX MOTION app allows the user to configure the maximum number of axes - real and virtual. Dependencies to controller hardware may apply. License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 3 or higher.
Option "Motion additional Axes (5-pack)" - product phase out
With activation of this license feature, ctrlX MOTION app allows the user to configure 5 additional axes. License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 1 or higher.
Technology packages for Sync Motion applications
Option "Motion Electronic Gear"
This option extends the standard motion app with the functionality of gearboxes which is the basic of synchronized axes movement. Functions:
Position sychronization (GearInPos)
Velocity synchronization (GearInVel)
License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 2.6 or higher.
Option "Motion Cam"
This option extends the standard motion app with the functionality of point tables with scaling factor. Functions:
Up to 99 cam tables in the motion app
Up to 1024 points in one cam table
License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 2.6 or higher with active electronic gear license.
Option "Motion FlexProfile"
This option extends the standard motion app with the functionality of the FlexProfile. Functions:
Up to 4 FlexProfiles per axis
Time control or event control
Wide selection of motion laws
License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 2.6 or higher with active electronic gear and cam license.
Technology packages for Coordinated Motion for Robotics applications
Option "Motion Cartesian Kinematics"
This option extends the basic motion function by specific functionality for Cartesian handling applications. License requires ctrlX MOTION app version 1 or higher.
Coordinated path movements
Jog motion for complete kinematic
Collision detection of servo axes in 3 dimensions
Smoothing movements with spline cornering
Addtional coordinate systems e.g. for product or end effector
Manual guidance of TCP
Option "Motion Delta & Scara Kinematics (Level 2 Kinematics)"
This option extends the option "Cartesian Kinematics" by specific functionality for applications with level 2 kinematics (e.g. Delta & Scara Kinematics). License requires ctrlX MOTION app version V02 or higher.

2D orientation
Option "Motion Articulated Kinematics (Level 3 Kinematics)"
This option extends the option "Level 2 Kinematics" by specific functionality for applications with level 3 kinematics (e.g. Articulated Kinematics). License requires ctrlX MOTION app version V02 or higher.
