Hello everybody,

I am trying to implement the following behavior:

An emergency stop (E‑Stop) is provided as a two‑channel, time‑monitored input. Both E‑Stop contacts (channels) should be monitored in such a way that it is possible to detect when one of the channels no longer switches off (i.e., remains stuck). In that case, the input must not be allowed to—return to the state “TRUE” / “OK”.

In the documentation, I found the function start‑up test (“Anlauftestung”). My understanding is that the E‑Stop must first trigger in the monitoring direction (=> both channels = 0) before it can be re‑enabled. This would solve the issue described above, but I am unable to get the function to behave accordingly.

Have I misunderstood the function? Is there another way to achieve the required behavior?

Thank you for your support!

Would you be able to confirm if the outputs are suppressed internally? I assume they are if it is a semiconductor type? The reason why I am asking is that we used suppressed relays. From my experience, I know that double-suppressing relays and contactors will affect the unit's reaction time.
