Combining radar imaging and artificial intelligence, it precisely identifies mispositioned products, incomplete packages, and foreign objects within sealed units. Seamless integration into the ctrlX World ecosystem ensures automated processes, cost savings, and a significant increase in packaging quality.
Quality control of packaging presents several challenges. This particularly applies to the detection and evaluation of incorrectly positioned products, their completeness, and foreign objects within sealed packaging units. Traditional methods often reach their limits here, especially regarding automation and efficiency enhancement.
To overcome these challenges, Bosch Rexroth, together with its partners from the ctrlX World ecosystem, has developed an innovative solution which utilizes a combination of software and hardware components. The solution is based on imaging through reflected radar signals and the use of artificial intelligence. Within the ctrlX Core, neural networks are employed on integrated AI hardware, complemented by scalable software extensions. This enables an automated assessment of packaging contents.
The architecture is open and versatile. The edge system offers broad app availability and hardware-based AI extensions. These allow for seamless integration of database and cloud connections. Furthermore, all common software interfaces to controllers, sensors, and actuators are supported. This combination provides extended functionalities such as sorting out defective products, recording anomalies in databases, and notification systems.
With a manageable expansion of the system, it is possible to eject products that are detected with insufficient quality. The Bosch Rexroth portfolio offers everything necessary for this, from drives, linear guides, and assembly technologies. A perfect selection from the assortment supports the planning of these components. AI assistants for controls and drives, as well as configurators, are available for this purpose. This allows you to see immediately whether the planned elements are compatible for use.
